New Lego Pacman Set Due for Release in June
LEGO fans and gaming enthusiasts alike are in for a treat as images of the latest LEGO set are circulating on social media. The new LEGO Pac-Man Arcade Machine set is expected to be released on June 1st, 2023, and features the top half of a Pac-Man cabinet, a miniature build of a small Pac-Man cabinet, and two ghosts. The set is based on the original yellow arcade cabinet art and is expected to retail for $269.99. The LEGO Pac-Man Arcade Machine set will include a total of 2,650 pieces, offering builders a challenging but rewarding project to complete.

The Latest in a Line of Gaming-Themed LEGO Sets

The LEGO Pac-Man Arcade Machine set is the latest addition to a growing line of gaming-themed LEGO sets. Since acquiring the Nintendo license, LEGO has released several gaming-inspired sets, including the LEGO NES, LEGO Question Block, LEGO Bowser, and various LEGO Super Mario sets.

While several The Legend of Zelda sets made it to the final stage of LEGO's Lego Ideas program, which sees fan-designed sets be turned into retail products, they were ultimately rejected by LEGO due to rights issues. However, the recently released Sonic The Hedgehog sets proved to be a success, leading to four new LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets set to release in August 2023.

The Four New LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog Sets

The four new LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets will feature LEGO minifig versions of Sonic, Tails, and Amy, along with other characters from the popular game series. The four confirmed sets are as follows:

  1. Sonic’s Green Hill Zone Loop Challenge - £99.99 / £94.99, contains Sonic, Amy, a loop, Eggman, two Badniks, and four animals.
  2. Sonic’s Speed Sphere Challenge - $34.99 / £24.99, contains Sonic, a spring, an arch, a ramp, one Badnik, and one animal.
  3. Tails’ Workshop and Tornado Plane - $39.99 / £37.99, contains Sonic, Tails, a workshop, a plane, and one Badnik.
  4. Amy’s Animal Rescue Island - $49.99 / £46.99, contains Amy, Tails, a piece of Green Hill Zone scenery, one Badnik, and three animals.

LEGO enthusiasts and gaming fans alike have plenty to look forward to with the upcoming release of the LEGO Pac-Man Arcade Machine set and the four new LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets. LEGO continues to impress with its collection of gaming-inspired sets, offering fans a chance to build their own versions of classic games and iconic characters. As more and more gaming franchises become available for licensing, it will be exciting to see what LEGO has in store for the future of its gaming-themed sets.
